Like most people I’ve been using a camera most of my life, and like most parents even more so when the children were growing up. I started taking it seriously though with my first digital SLR and went back to school to learn more. While there I earned Level 2 BTEC award Distinctions in Studio and Experimental Photography.
The world of digital photography allows me to express my creativity like never before, and the greatest thrill is when a client see’s what I have produced for them for the first time and they utter that one little three letter word, Wow.
That’s it, that’s all it takes, and I’m buzzin'. Then when the grins start to spread over their faces, and occasionally tears form, well, that’s me flying.
It’s the greatest feeling in the world to have that sort of positive effect in someone's life. Especially when you know that with wedding photography my images could take pride of place in their home for 40 or 50 years.
To keep ahead of your craft and provide your customers with the very best images you can produce I think you must be judged by your peers. I firmly believe this and so I am a member of the RAW Collective, a group of local photographers who exhibit our work at venues in Nottingham several times a year.
I am also a Licentiate member of the British Institute of Professional Photography. Membership is awarded on the outcome of 20 images being assessed by the Professional Photography Qualifying Board. B.I.P.P qualifications are highly regarded and recognised as a benchmark of excellence worldwide.
